Sync Notion with ProjectLab

We know many of you live inside Notion, so we're excited to announce that you can now connect your Notion workspace directly to a ProjectLab space. Keep managing your projects and tasks the way you already do in Notion-ProjectLab will pick them up automatically.

This feature is currently in Beta. We'd love your feedback as we continue to refine it.

Getting Started

Notion integrations require two dedicated databases in your workspace:

• Projects Database: Tracks your top-level projects.
• Tasks Database: Tracks the individual tasks associated with those projects.

Don't worry if you're not sure how to set these up-ProjectLab will walk you through the required fields and structure step by step when you connect your workspace.

A Note on Sync Speed

Due to the way Notion's integration API works, changes made in Notion may take up to 1 minute to appear in ProjectLab. This is a Notion platform limitation, but we're exploring ways to make the experience feel as real-time as possible in future updates.

Enterprise & Datacentre Tooling

We're also starting research for a dedicated tool tailored for enterprise customers in the datacentre space. This is early days, but we're listening closely to the needs of larger organisations managing complex infrastructure projects. If this sounds like you, we'd especially love to hear from you - your input will directly shape what we build.

Timeline Status Overhaul

We’ve completely revamped how you manage project statuses with some exciting new features:

Interactive Status Management

• Direct Interactions on the Timeline: You can now click and drag to manage project statuses directly from the timeline view.
• Add More Statuses Easily: Add new statuses straight from the timeline to project the status of your project over time and gain accurate insights into end dates.
• Event Diamonds Overlay: With events displayed on the status bars, you can instantly see how project statuses align with key deadlines.

Goodbye Status Planner

The status planner is no more! Everything you need can now be done directly from the timeline:

• Pause Projects: Insert breaks in your projects by splitting the current status bar and dragging it to the desired dates.
• Adjust Plans: Modify or delete past and future statuses as needed-replace them with new ones in your flow or leave the project paused entirely.

All-New Project Detail View

The project detail view has been redesigned to make critical information more accessible:

• Condensed Information: Key details are now neatly organized for quick reference.
• Current Status Indication: Seamlessly integrated with the new timeline status overhaul.
• Collapsible Events and Tasks: View events and tasks in collapsible sections for a cleaner layout.
• Instant Navigation: Click on events or tasks from the timeline to jump directly to their details in the project view.

What’s Coming Next

We’re already working on additional timeline features to make project management even smoother:

Project Deadlines

Set fixed start and end dates for specific statuses to create deadlines. For example, ensure your project begins testing on a specific date. Timeline adjustments will respect these fixed dates, adapting other status bars accordingly.

Space Breaks

Insert breaks across all projects in a space-for holidays, team downtime, or other pauses-with just a few clicks.

We’re hard at work on the Status Planner, a powerful way to map out project statuses over time, adapting to unexpected changes like holidays or shifting priorities. It’s still in Alpha, but we can’t wait for you to try it soon!
